We are seeking a highly skilled Core Network Integration Engineer to drive the deployment, integration, configuration, and optimization of our telecom core infrastructure. In this role, you will bridge the gap between network architecture and live operations, executing Methods of Procedure (MOPs) to safely integrate critical network elements. You will be responsible for end-to-end service validation, testing, and troubleshooting across multi-vendor telecom environments, with a strong focus on the Nokia Cloud Core portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cloud-native/virtualized environments and deep, focused expertise in at least one of our open technology tracks: IMS, Packet Core, Subscriber Data Management (SDM), or Telecom Charging.
Key Responsibilities
Integration & Deployment: Lead the configuration, commissioning, and integration of core network elements into bare-metal, virtualized (NFV), and cloud-native telecom environments.
Execution & Testing: Develop, review, and execute detailed Methods of Procedure (MOP) for software upgrades, expansion, and service migrations. Perform pre-checks, post-checks, and end-to-end service validation.
Technical Documentation: Author and maintain rigorous technical delivery documentation, including High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), and Customer Information Questionnaires (CIQ).
Troubleshooting & Optimization: Isolate and resolve complex configuration and protocol-level faults during the integration and stabilization phases.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with System Architects, Project Managers, and the Operations/Care teams to ensure flawless operational handovers.
Open Technology Tracks (Expertise in at Least One Required)
Track 1: IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)
Deep integration and optimization expertise in Nokia IMS Core nodes (CFX-5000 / CSCF, HSS, BG-CF, OpenTAS, MRF).
Advanced understanding of Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi), and Voice over 5G (VoNR) call flows.
Mastery of signaling protocols including SIP, SDP, RTP, RTCP, and Diameter.
Track 2: Packet Core (4G EPC / 5G Core)
Proven experience deploying and integrating Nokia Cloud Packet Core (CPC) elements including CMG (Cloud Mobility Manager) and CMM (Cloud Mobility Gateway) for EPC and 5G Core (AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF).
Comprehensive understanding of interfaces and protocols such as GTPv2, GTP-U, (SBI), and Diameter.
Strong background in network slicing, quality of service (QoS) dimensions, and user-plane forwarding optimization.
Track 3: Subscriber Data Management (SDM)
Hands-on installation, deployment, and schema configuration of centralized Nokia databases, specifically Nokia One-NDS (One Network Directory Server) and SDL (Shared Data Layer).
Strong competency in managing subscriber data elements including Nokia HLR, HSS, UDM, AUSF, and EIR.
Proficient in handling directory protocol structures (LDAP/DSA), database replication topologies, and massive data migration scripts.
Track 4: Charging & Business Support Systems (BSS)
Proven experience deploying and integrating convergent charging platforms, specifically Nokia Convergent Charging (NCC) or Nokia Charging solutions.
Deep technical capability working with CHF (Charging Function) and CCS (Convergent Charging System) architectures in 5G standalone networks.
Mastery of online and offline charging protocols, interfaces, and interfaces including Diameter (Gy, Gz, Ro, Rf) and Service-Based Interfaces (Nchf).
Strong understanding of rating engines, tariff configurations, balance management, and integration with downstream billing, mediation, and CRM systems.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of technical experience in telecom core network delivery or integration. Direct hands-on experience with Nokia Cloud Core product delivery is a major advantage.
Cloud & Virtualization: Practical experience with cloud infrastructure software (Nokia CloudBand Application Manager (CBAM), OpenStack, Kubernetes, VMware) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) frameworks.
Networking Foundations: Solid knowledge of IP networking, routing/switching protocols (OSPF, BGP), and security frameworks.
Tools: Proficiency with traffic capture and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark to parse hex traces and complex system logs.
Automation: Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ansible) for automated deployment and testing is highly desirable.
