Job Description

TriBeCa Community School, a preschool in Downtown Manhattan, seeks a classroom teacher for the 2026-2027 school year (2s or 4s/5s). This position will start in January 2027 and ends June 2027. It is possible that this position will extend through the following academic year. The daily schedule for teachers is 8:00am-3pm, 5 days/week. Teachers work on a collaborative team of 3 teachers.

We are seeking creative, team-oriented teachers who

• See themselves as learners and researchers alongside children.
\n
• Are careful observers and listeners of children.
\n
• Will create positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
\n

Responsibilities include:

\n
• Implementing an inquiry-based curriculum, guided by theories of constructivism and social constructivism.
\n
• Documenting the process and elevate the visibility of children’s ideas and theories
\n
• Communicating with families daily regarding the classroom work and learning
\n
• Conducting parent-teacher conferences twice per year
\n
• Conducting curriculum night / parent workshop events twice per year
\n
• Engaging thoughtfully and collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents
\n
• Reflecting on own teaching practice; developing and working toward goals.
\n

Qualifications

\n
• At least two years of experience as a classroom teacher
\n
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
\n
• Skilled in Mac programs, video, photography and editing programs, or willingness to learn.
\n
• Available 8-3, M-F
\n
